Christine Carstairs

Writer/Director

Writer and director Christine Carstairs first started in film working as a grip and camera operator on student films and independent music videos in her home province of Alberta, Canada. After a brief break, during which she immigrated to the United States, she picked right back up where she left off in her new home state of Texas. After directing two music videos, Christine then produced and acted as the director of photography for the short film 'The Spell Book', which was subsequently selected to screen at the 19th Annual Austin Film Festival. She recently wrote and directed her first narrative work 'Drastic Measures', a sci-fi horror short film.

Writer/Director

Robert James Haynes - Robert is best known for his acerbic wit, punchy dialogue, sharp comedic timing, and for an unhealthy obsession with the 1987 classic film 'Robocop'. His first narrative short 'The Spell Book' debuted at the Austin Film Festival in 2012. He is currently in preproduction on an upcoming web-series and writing a feature film script.

‘Drastic Measures’

‘Drastic Measures’ is a sci-fi/ horror short film written and directed by Christine Carstairs.

Synopsis

Found near death and alone, a hiker is rushed to a remote Texas ranch house for aid. A medical chopper is on it’s way, but as her rescuers will soon find out, some things are just better left lost.

SARAH ~ Carrie H. Stephens

The character of the lost hiker Sarah is played by Carrie H. Stephens, an actress known for One Every Minute (2011), Everyday Hero (The Ballad of the Bucket) (2013) and With Unveiled Eyes (2013).

THE DOCTOR ~ Les Best

The role of the Doctor is played by Les Best. A stage actor for 35 years, Les has recently transitioned to film. His first feature film “To Become Ghosts” premiered in Austin in 2013.

MEMO ~ Julio Antonio Alonzo

The role of Guillermo (Memo), is played by Julio Antonio Alonzo, known for his work on By Man's Hand (2011), 5 Year dream (2011) and It Was a Good Day (2011).

JESSE ~ William John Daley

The role of Jesse, the hot tempered ranch worker, was played by William John Daley. He is best know for De-Pixelated:Borderlands (2012), De-Pixelated: Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2012) and Bioshock Infinite: Key to Freedom (2013)
